A technical paper presentation/seminar was organized by the Institute of Maine Engineers (India), Chennai Branch and sent invitations to all the maritime education and training institutions to nominate their engineering cadets. The seminar was held at the Seafarers Club on 14th July 2009 with 6 groups participated from various marine engineering colleges. Out of the 6 groups, 2 groups wee from Chennai School of Ship Management.
CSSM cadets presented papers on the following topics:
- Pure Ballast by Cadets T.P.Nasaf & Mohd.Jufali
- Waste Heat Recovery by Cadets Vineet Chandran & B.Aravind
The presentation made on “Pure Ballast” by Cadets Nasaf & Jufali was adjudged the “best one” and they were declared Winners. The winners were awarded Certificates and Cash Prize of Rs.4,000/-.
Cadets Vineet Chandran & B.Aravind, who presented their papers on “Waste Heat Recovery” secured 4th place.
Shri K.Shankar (Editor, MER (I) Magazine) of India Cements Ltd., and Shri Mathew were the judges. The judges praised the winning cadets for their overwhelming performance and pepped up the participants in their speech.
Shri V.L.Mangesh, Lecturer, CSSM was the team leader and prepared the CSSM cadets for the above seminar.
Shri C.V.Subba Rao welcomed the gathering and also offered vote of thanks during the seminar.
CSSM Management, Principal and Staff appreciates and congratulates its Cadets and Mr.Mangesh for flying CSSM’s flag high. CSSM Management is pleased to hour the winning cadets with a cash prize of Rs.1,001/- each and consolation cash prize of Rs.501/- each to cadets secured 4th place and special award with cash prize of Rs.2,001/- to the team leader, Mr.V.L.Mangesh.
